Biography

Kristin Andersen is a Communication Studies Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow for the 2018-2019 year. She previously attended The University of Georgia (M.A. 2014, Ph.D. in progress) where she taught a variety of Communication Studies courses, including Interpersonal Communication, Family Communication (in Health Contexts), and Empirical Research Methods. Kristin researches destructive communication in close relationships, most recently focusing on the contexts of body-related communication, stigma, and interpersonal aggression. Currently she is working on completing her dissertation, which examines how parents’ weight stigma messages are remembered by and relate to their children’s body image and health-related outcomes.
