The University, Department, as well as the College Dean’s Office, offers a number of scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. See if you qualify.

Financial Aid
Students seeking to establish eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work study will need to complete a free application for federal student aid and submit it to the Financial Aid Office. Additionally, this office administers a number of University scholarships, most of which have a February 1st application deadline. Visit the Financial Aid website or call 435-797-0173.

MSLT funding
Awards for financial assistance in the master of second language teaching program are made on the basis of the candidate's academic qualifications, experience, departmental needs and availability of funding. Assistance may come in the form of research assistantships, scholarships, fellowships, tuition waivers and teaching assistantships. Each year there are teaching assistantships available for French, Spanish, and ESL. Some years additional assistantships in Chinese, German, Japanese, or Russian are available.. Check out the MSLT page for more information.

The application deadline for teaching assistantships with the Department of Languages, Philosophy, and Speech Communication as well as for certain other fellowships and waivers is February 1st. The application for financial assistance should be submitted at the earliest possible time to ensure that the candidate is considered if previously unanticipated awards become available, even if the submission is past the deadline given below.

Application deadline for financial assistance during the academic year 2014-2015 is February 1, 2014. Awards will be announced in mid-April, 2014.

Because graduate instructorships and graduate teaching assistantships sometimes become available mid-year and require that the awardee have taken the Teaching Assistants Workshop, it is a good idea to participate in that workshop in August. Contact the School of Graduate Studies for the schedule.

Additional graduate funding
The School of Graduate Studies at Utah State University awards several prestigious fellowships to incoming graduate students. They include the President's Fellowship, the Graduate School Fellowships, and the Vice President for Research Fellowship. These awards are made based primarily on GRE scores, transcripts, and letters of reference.
